Children’s Special Health Care Services

I designed several brochures, promotional sticky note pads, flyers and posters for the Children’s Special Health Care Services section of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS). They were hoping to make their materials kid-friendly and vibrant which I aimed to achieve through the use of multiple colors and fun kid-friendly patterns that I created throughout.

Office of Faith Engagement

I designed a brochure, flyer, newsletter header and website icons for the Office of Faith Engagement at MDHHS all of which include custom illustrations/graphics. They were hoping to give off a warm and inclusive feel which I emulated with the warmer colors and the circular graphics.

Fathers Are Welcome Here Poster Series

I created a series of posters for the “Fathers are welcome here” campaign at MDHHS. They wanted these to be eye-catching and inclusive, so I focused on making them bright and colorful and including various images of fathers engaging with their children in different ways.

Medicaid

I designed flyers, brochures and some static and motion graphics for social media for the Medicaid section of MDHHS. They wanted these to be easily recognizable as MDHHS materials and to highlight key information that people who use Medicaid need to know. I achieved this by utilizing MDHHS’s main colors (navy and green) and highlighting specific information with a brighter orange and using lines to guide the eye to specific information as well.

Newborn Screening

I created posters, brochures, infographics and social media graphics for the Newborn Screening section of MDHHS. I also designed the three icons they use on all of their materials to highlight the three main parts of newborn screening; hearing, heart and blood spot screening. They wanted their materials to have a softer feel which I aimed to achieve with more pastel colors and rounded edges.

Flu Vaccine Poster Series and Other Vaccine Materials

I created a series of posters to promote getting the flu vaccine in different seasons, updating the color scheme, tag lines and imagery to match the season. I also created a poster for maternal vaccines and an adult vaccines brochure all of which aim to shine a positive light on vaccine use through positive imagery and bright colors while still looking organized and being informational.

Public Service Recognition Week

I designed the Public Service Recognition Week campaign and have included two different years of that campaign below. For one year, the theme was “lighting up Michigan” and used lighthouses to promote MDHHS’s impact that spreads across the state. The next year was “navigating trails together” which focused on MDHHS working together to serve our state. Both campaigns are meant to promote Michigan-specific scenery in a fun and engaging way. I designed posters, logos, flyers, notes, web banners and certificates for these campaigns.

Foster-Adoptive Conference Agendas

I designed the agendas for the Foster-Adoptive Parent and Community Support Conference each year, two of which are included below. The agendas needed to be kid-friendly, positive and engaging which I aimed to achieve through custom graphics and illustration, bright colors, and soft curves. The first year was themed “Under the Sea” and focused on ocean imagery and the second year was themed “What is going on in their heads?” and focused on the imaginings of a child’s mind.

Various Infographics

I have created various infographic flyers for many different sections of MDHHS some of which are sampled below. I use custom graphics, illustrations, and graphs to highlight key information. I have also included an example of a motion graphic video I created promoting the measles vaccine.

Black History Month

I created a modern timeline and accompanying social media graphics to highlight black history month. To make the timeline look professional but engaging, I used a simple color palette that matched Black History Month colors and incorporated some geometric patterns to bring in some interest.

Adult Protective Services Annual Report

I designed the annual report for the Adult Protective Services section of MDHHS. The report includes various representations of data and highlights my ability to organize information in an engaging but easy-to-follow way. I am comfortable working with data and finding different ways to visually represent it to best get the main points across to the audience.

Michigan’s Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic Annual Report

I designed the annual report for Michigan’s Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics. The report includes various representations of data and highlights my ability to organize information in an engaging but easy-to-follow way. I am comfortable working with data and finding different ways to visually represent it to best get the main points across to the audience.

Social Media

I design various social media graphics for all of MDHHS’s platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, X and Threads. Below I have highlighted some of the graphics I have created for Instagram. I aimed to create a cohesive timeline for MDHHS by using their main navy and green along with their accent blue color as the main colors used and transitioning between various template styles I created for posts. I aimed to use limited, intentional text and engaging imagery to draw the viewer in and keep things consistent and on brand with imagery style, colors and font choices. Included are a few simple motion graphics as well.
